Daren Mallard manages the development of Marketing Strategy for the Global Logistics organization, within Cisco’s Supply Chain Operations. In this role, he’s responsible for messaging the value proposition of Cisco’s Forward and Reverse Logistics capabilities, to internal and external stakeholders, customers & partners. He forms collaborative relationships, to develop initiatives that better position and improve the overall logistics experience. He also helps evangelize Cisco’s Circular Economy efforts, communicating the company’s focus on sustainability and on being a good Global Corporate Citizen.
Daren joined Cisco via an acquisition, thirteen years ago, and his previous roles within the company include managing Product Marketing, Technical Marketing, and Sales Operations. Prior to the acquisition, he spent nine years with Scientific-Atlanta (nearly four years as their Investor Relations Manager, and approximately five years as a Senior Financial Analyst). Daren originally began his career journey as a CPA with Ernst & Young LLP (or EY, as they are now known). He has served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, and is a proud Morehouse College alumnus. He’s been a member of a number of industry boards, including local chapters of CTAM, NAMIC, and NABA…for which he served two consecutive terms as Board President. And, he had the distinction of being selected to, and attending the Cable Executive Management Program, at Harvard Business School, sponsored by the CTAM Educational Foundation
Within the community, Daren has led mentoring programs for the Junior Achievement Fellows Program & the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science & Technology…teaching business skills, financial principles, and entrepreneurship to high school students. Promoting financial literacy is one of his passions, and he enjoys teaching his nephews (aged 12 and 5) and godson (age 14) how to invest their time and financial resources at an early age…while also making sure to give back to others. His favorite activities include spending time & traveling the world with his wife, rooting for NY sports teams that consistently disappoint, and thinking of new ways in which he can make a positive impact on the community, and the world.
